Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Alam is a PhD in Water Resource Engineering who did his Doctorate from the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering, University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2011. He did his Master's in Water Resources Engineering and Management from the University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2006 and his Bachelors is in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar in the year 2001. He started his career as a Project Civil Engineer with Karcon Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Peshawar, Pakistan and Faylaka Middle East Contractors. Abu-Dahbi, United Arab Emirates in 2002 and 2003 respectively. While pursuing his PhD, he worked as a Hydrologist/Civil Engg with Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG. Stuttgart, Germany and a Research Assistant in the Institute of Hydraulics (IWS), University of Stuttgart, Germany. He also worked as a Research Scientist in Deutscher Wetterdeinst (DWD), German weather services, Offenbach, Germany from 2011 till 2014. After serving various universities and institutes in Pakistan, he is currently working as an Associate Professor and the Head of Civil Engineering Department in City University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan. His research interests are Hydrology and hydrological modeling, Optimization techniques in water resources engineering, Statistical methodologies & Applied research methods in water resources engineering, Fuzzy modeling, Hydraulic Structures, Climate change and its impacts on water resources, Hydromechanics and Environmental Fluid Mechanics.
