Sumira Wali is a passionate linguist with an MS in Linguistics, specializing in language attitudes and bilingualism. With over six years of diverse teaching experience, she brings a dynamic blend of academic expertise and hands-on instructional practice to the field of language education. Sumira is deeply committed to promoting intercultural understanding and fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments. As a proud alumna of the prestigious YES Scholarship Program, she spent an academic year in the United States, gaining firsthand insight into American education and culture while representing her home country as a youth ambassador. This formative experience laid the foundation for her ongoing efforts to bridge cultures through language and education. Her professional journey includes impactful roles as a language instructor in high-profile, U.S. Embassy-funded initiatives such as the Access Micro-Scholarship Program and the English Works Program. In these roles, she empowered young learners with not only English proficiency but also critical life skills, consistently promoting learner confidence and cross-cultural awareness. To further enhance her expertise, Sumira successfully completed the Teaching English to Young Learners course from George Mason University under the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program, equipping her with innovative and age-appropriate strategies tailored to diverse learning needs. With a strong foundation in linguistics, cross-cultural communication, and learner engagement, Sumira Wali continues to make meaningful contributions to English language education and youth development—locally and globally.
